Valeri "Larry" Trambitas, 79, a 50-year part-time resident of Rancho Mirage and resident of Juno, Ark., died Dec. 30, 2000, at his Rancho Mirage home.:
He was born June 22, 1921, to Valeri and Elizabeth Finley Trambitas in Portland, Ore.
He married Vesta Sylvia Nashman on Nov. 8, 1962, in Aberdeen, Wash.
He was a self-employed theater owner.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Variety Club, Elks, Teamsters and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Vesta, of Rancho Mirage and Juno; his son, Larry of Auburn, Wash; a stepson, C.R. Bud Marsh of Orange; a daughter, Galene Axelson of Redmond, Ore; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Voorhees of Spokane, Wash; a brother, Jack of Juno; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private with Wiefels and Son in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Eisenhower Hospice.
